Skin Care West physicians offer their expertise for removal of benign skin lesions as well as neuromodulator injections (Botox). These services are considered cosmetic and are not covered by the B.C. Medical Services Plan. A referral is not required. An initial consultation fee will apply, and treatment is typically offered on the day of your assessment. A deposit is required to book your appointment.

EXISTING PATIENTS
Seborrheic keratoses are non-cancerous, rough or warty skin growths that commonly appear on the trunk or face. Most seborrheic keratoses can be removed with liquid nitrogen (cryotherapy), while some are better treated with electrosurgery using a hyfrecator device followed by curettage (scraping).

Spider veins (telangiectasia) and cherry angiomas are common benign vascular lesions on the face and body. Spider veins appear as fine red or purple lines, while cherry angiomas present as small, bright red dots. We treat these lesions using electrosurgery (hyfrecation). We do not offer laser treatments.

Enlarged sebaceous (oil) glands can appear as small yellow bumps on the forehead and cheeks. While these are harmless, some people prefer to have them treated for cosmetic reasons. We offer removal using electrosurgery with a hyfrecator device.

You may request removal of a healthy-appearing mole due to its location, size, or unwanted growth. Surgery is the safest and only method of removal offered at Skin Care West.

A skin cyst is a sac-like growth. Most cysts are benign and harmless. At Skin Care West, we offer surgical removal of cysts up to 1 cm in size. We do not offer facial cyst removal due to the complexity of underlying structures. For facial cysts, please see your family doctor to discuss a referral to a plastic surgeon.

Skin tags are small benign growths that commonly appear on the neck, armpits, groin, or eyelids. Depending on the size and location, skin tag removal may include cryosurgery with liquid nitrogen, electrocautery with a hyfrecator device, or surgical excision.
